The new school year brings an overhaul of Academic Decathlon at Willits Charter School: new team members, new coach, and newmatch-ups for the regional competition. Of the nine members composing the team, only two have previous experience with Academic Decathlon, and four are new students at WCS, so we have no lack of new enthusiasm and ideas. Of course, the thematic components of AcaDec change annually, and this year students will be learning about Chinese history, government, literature, art, and music. In the area of science, climatology has been selected as the topic of study.

County/Regional competition will be held
February 3, 2007

State competition will be
March 15-18, 2007

AcaDec will be serving concessions at the WCS
Halloween Dance on Friday, October 20, as part of our
fundraising efforts. In addition, students will be
selling flower bulbs on an ongoing basis.
